Participating in national and International projects and campaigns such as Soroptimist International of the America's annual "Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence Against Women."
Hosting an annual Christmas party with food, fun and gifts for all women and children at the local domestic violence shelter.
"Keiki Kare Pack Project" to provide supplies and other items to Child Welfare Services (i.e. toiletries, blankets, diapers, backpacks, etc.). When infants, children and youth are brought into foster care, these supplies are put together as a care package and sent home with them. The packages are a small way to make infants, children and youth feel more comfortable in their transition to foster care.
"Baby Think It Over Project" to provide certain Maui schools with real-life, computerized infant dolls that offer students a realistic parenting experience. The purpose of this experience is to encourage youth to make more healthy choices, and take an interest in personal goal setting and dialogue with parents, guardians and teachers.
Assisting other community organizations in their missions, such as running small food drives for the Maui Food Bank, or helping "A Keiki's Dream" organization make a child's dream come true.
Founder Region Fellowship Awards to assist women who have entered into the final phase of their doctoral program and who demonstrate financial need and scholarly potential.
Women's Opportunity Awards to provide women who are the heads of their households with the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.
Youth Citizenship and Jr. Youth Citizenship Awards for boys and girls who are outstanding in their service to school and community.
Sharon Okumura Nursing Awards to assist exceptional women going through the nursing program at Maui Community College.
